Serve Autonomous Robotics Sidewalk Delivery Solutions Provider

This December on the 6th to be more precise 2021, Serve Robotics an autonomous sidewalk deliver solutions platform provider Serve Robotics, a twist on grocery delivery company Postmates  – which is owned by Uber  (apparently), announced a US $13 million expanded Seed Round.

In this latest Seed Round participation came from DX Ventures , 7-Ventures  and Wavemaker Labs . The strategic investor for the round was obviously Uber.

What this means is that this rounds serves as an extension of Serve’s seed back in March 2021, and includes participation from interested investors like VC firms Neo and Western Technology Investment  both participants in the initial seed.

But I gotta tell you after watching these in action, I am duly impressed. In my humble opinion Serve will most certainly be the future of neighborhood delivery services and solutions throughout the entire delivery service platforms.

Serve’s awesome robotic platform has a load capacity of about 50 lbs. and has a travel range of 30 miles on just one charge. These things are super safe because in addition to being designed for sidewalk travel and maneuverability ( yes, it can be social as well ), it is constantly being monitored by a real human operator. According to the announcement the influx of funding investment will be used for accelerated growth and expansion into areas of new customer development segments as well as more zip codes – if you will, so they will be needing a few more robots to be built – obviously but this will enable Serve gather the means for unprecedented growth. I like that, I really like that.

You may or may not be surprised to learn that Serves Robotics movie like self-driving robots have completed tens of thousands of deliveries throughout Los Angeles and San Fransisco from over 100 merchants. It’s sometimes hard to believe we are living in these times. I mean these little guys are running around providing services that help so many and bring convenience to an otherwise time consuming task. In November of this year, Serve announced a partnership with Uber. According the company officials Serve’s
autonomous delivery service robots will be made available to Uber Eats customers in Los Angeles in 2022!

I think that is great news! I might just move to Los Angeles just to take a video of me walking out front of my place and the robot comes and brings me my Xbox or my meal. That would be so awesome. So a great thumbs up on Serve for their contribution to the future of delivery services platforms; Serve is certain to be a leader in this industry.
